Miron is an excellent contractor and a Renaissance man. On three different
projects -- a deck, a fireplace and a retaining wall -- he has guided me through
the design process and choosing materials, and I'm thrilled with the results. He
is polite, prompt and professional. He knows the ins and outs of inspections and
permits; when the deck posed some design challenges, he worked seamlessly with
the town buildings department, and only months later did I find out that the
same permit issues had prevented my house's previous owners from doing the deck
project at all (they stopped after installing a sliding glass door and some
lighting). Miron takes obvious pride in what he does. A lot of contractors have
portfolios with "before" and "after" photos; Miron's portfolio is unusual for
including "during" photos as well. He communicates what he's doing, and why, and
what the price-performance trade-offs are. He cares about craftsmanship, and is
generous with his expertise and time. I know some of his other customers, and
know I'm not the only one to turn to him consistently as a trusted adviser.

Miron constructed a new second floor bathroom and walk-in closet for us. We were impressed with the quality of his work, attention to detail, and timeliness. He really went above and beyond what was required, even repairing some work that a previous contractor had done incorrectly free of charge! The people that he brought in to help him (i.e. the plumber, electrician) were also great. He really took the extra time to make sure that everything was done right from artistic tile layout to changing the plans along the way to maximize the use of space and to make the bathroom easier to use while still staying within the time frame that he gave us. We'll definitely use him for our next home improvement project and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.

We hired Miron to build a washer/dryer closet. Miron was very professional and friendly. The job took less time than he estimated and his price was fair with no surprises. He left our home clean at the end of each work day. Miron did such a great job and was so attentive to detail that we voluntarily paid him more than he asked for! He was that good! We are definitely going to hire him to do additional work at our home in the future!

We hired Marchis Contracting for a three and a half month renovation of our home and upstairs apartment. Our funds were limited and we were looking to spend it effectively. Marchis made progress quickly, completed the work on time, in budget and was a pleasure to deal with. He is very knowledgeable, professional and responsive. Every step of the way he took time to explain what needed to be done. Even when the project was held up waiting for plans from the structural engineer, they stayed on the job and adjusted the time line to make it work. When it was needed they worked long days and weekends to finish the project on time even after we made changes that impacted the schedule. Every step of the way, he cared that we were happy with the workmanship. I will definitely use Marchis Contracting again in the future as well as recommend them to others. Scope of work: built dormer on gambrel roof, installed a new rubber roof, replace asphalt shingles, removed walls, removed chimney, installed 3 new lvl structural support beams, re-framed portion of roof, built roof deck, a complete kitchen remodel, new half bath, refinish existing wood floors, install new wood floors and several new doors and windows.

Miron Marchis is not your typical contractor. He shows up on time, completes his work on an as promised basis and on budget, and is a pleasure to deal with. He is professional, responsive and a skilled contractor. Our project involved sealing an exterior wall to prevent water infiltration. His finished product was not rushed but in fact expertly done, clean and on time. I would not hesitate to use him again. He is also a nice honest person, which does go a long way in this field.

Miron did an outstanding job with outside trim repair work. He took the time to explain to me what he needed to do. He also approached the job in a very professional manner and sought to correct some rotted wood problems the right way, and not the fastest way. I would definitely use him again.
